About the short film

Memories from the Holocaust have been portrayed in almost every medium, but rarely animation -- and never before by a child animator. Animated short film "INGRID PITT: BEYOND THE FOREST" is a cross-generational collaboration between a world-class animation master, two-time Academy Award-nominated Bill Plympton, and a first-time animator, 11-year-old artist Perry Chen. It is narrated by Ingrid Pitt herself.

Starting with Ingrid Pitt's poignant narration and Bill Plympton's 23 traditional pencil sketches as storyboard, award-winning artist and film critic Perry Chen brings this moving story and its contemporary implications alive. Read more

Screening and personal appearance at Sarasota Film Festival in Florida

We are pleased to announce that Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest is an official selection of the Sarasota Film Festival. Held annually in Sarasota, Florida, The Sarasota Film Festival emphasizes the best in cinema alongside exciting programs and events, with more than 180 films screened each year including features, documentaries, shorts, and kid-friendly picks. Entering their 14th year, their mission is to celebrate the art of filmmaking and the contribution of filmmakers by hosting an international film festival and developing year-long programs for the economic, educational and cultural benefit of their idyllic Gulf Coast community.

Screening at WorldFest in Houston, Texas

We're honored that Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest will also be screening at WorldFest, one of the oldest and largest film and video competitions in the world. It is now in its 45th year, and takes place in Houston, Texas.

What could be better than a Florida film festival? Two Florida film festivals! Director/Co-Producer Kevin Sean Michaels will be attending the Florida Film Festival taking place at several different theaters in Orange County, Florida (not to be confused with the Sarasota Film Festival, also in Florida this month).

Every year the Florida Film Festival premieres the best in current independent and foreign cinema. This year -- their 21st anniversary -- they bring you over 160 cutting-edge films, 100 visiting filmmakers, plenty of special guests, and non-stop events. We're delighted to announce that Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest will be screening at the Newport Beach Film Festival. Animator Perry Chen, Director/Co-Producer Kevin Sean Michaels, and Co-Producer Zhu Shen will be in attendance.

Set in beautiful Newport Beach, a few blocks away from spectacular coastline and less than an hour from Hollywood, the Festival annually hosts several premieres and galas for a singular festival experience. The area offers a rich filmmaking history as well as fine dining, shopping, and exceptional recreational activities.
